FDA/EUA Approved Real Time PCR Test

We are working with numerous colleges and universities across the country, providing FDA/EUA approved COVID-19 PCR testing with next day results. Lucid can be on site at your college or university campus to test your entire student body over the course of a couple days, employ staff to provide testing weekly, or train your current staff on site to collect samples to ship overnight to our lab 6 days a week.

A few things that set us apart from the competition:

  • FDA/EUA Approved Real Time PCR Test

  • Next day results

  • Easy to use portal where students can register in 5 min using a QR code

  • Results will be sent via secure email link when finalized using the email provided upon registration.  This prevents the admin staff from receiving hundreds of calls from students wanting results.  We can also delay the positive result emails 24 hours to help admin staff reach out to the students directly before they receive their results via email

  • No out-of-pocket cost for the students or University  (ask us how)

The whole process may take 15 min for students who register for the first time and 5 min if they are recurring weekly.

What is CGx Testing?

Genetic testing looks for specific inherited changes (variants) in a person’s genes. Genetic variants can have harmful, beneficial, neutral (no effect), or unknown or uncertain effects on the risk of developing diseases. Harmful variants in some genes are known to be associated with an increased risk of developing cancer. These inherited variants are thought to contribute to about 5 to 10% of all cancers.

Cancer can sometimes appear to “run in families” even if it is not caused by an inherited variant. For example, a shared environment or lifestyle, such as tobacco use, can cause similar cancers to develop among family members. However, certain patterns that are seen in members of a family—such as the types of cancer that develop, other non-cancer conditions that are seen, and the ages at which cancer typically develops—may suggest the presence of an inherited susceptibility to cancer.

What is PGx Testing?

Pharmacogenomics is the study of how genes affect a person’s response to drugs. This relatively new field combines pharmacology (the science of drugs) and genomics (the study of genes and their functions) to develop effective, safe medications and doses that will be tailored to a person’s genetic makeup.

Many drugs that are currently available are “one size fits all,” but they don't work the same way for everyone. It can be difficult to predict who will benefit from a medication, who will not respond at all, and who will experience negative side effects (called adverse drug reactions). Adverse drug reactions are a significant cause of hospitalizations and deaths in the United States.

The field of pharmacogenomics is still in its infancy. Its use is currently quite limited, but new approaches are under study in clinical trials. In the future, pharmacogenomics will allow the development of tailored drugs to treat a wide range of health problems, including cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer disease, cancer, HIV/AIDS, and asthma.
